Pee Wee

Togo is 8 months old today!

He's almost an adult, and he's suddenly discovered the great joy of marking his territory. He has started peeing here and there to claim his domain, including in the house! Of course he gets a good shelling when he does it inside the house, so he rarely attempts this.

Is there a correct way to break him out of this instinct?
Let me know if you do.
Togo Mommy is not enjoying mopping up pee.

  1. Oh oh! Hey hey, try this coz it absolutely 100% works! It is sooo unbelievable but the neighborhood male dogs who used to pee on our gate, has stopped! Can you believe it? And what is the device we use? Just a normal coke bottle filled with water placed against the gate. That's it! Somehow, the male dogs don't want to pee in that area anymore for some reason & I'm also talking, not even near my hoomans cars. Maybe they find the bottle filled with water is strange looking or something, I don't know but what the heck! It WORKS! My mommy got this idea from her friend whose dog also pees on all four of his car wheels. It has stopped the moment the owner placed bottles around the car. Weird huh? So, why not try & place a few here & there in the house & outside especially on where he does it. I tell ya, it works! No pee pee on gate for almost a month now... And you Togo, stop marking!

  2. Aw...happy eight month birthday, Togo! (This is about the time I got my winklets removed, and that helped with the "marking.")
    Otherwise...
My Old Girl crate trained me when I was a baby, and that worked. Then we moved, and it stopped working.
So she trained me on puppy papers, and that worked. Then we moved, and it stopped working.
Now she just takes me out as much as possible...and I'm good...mostly. ;)

  3. i took my dog out 3 times a day, once before i go to school in the morning, then during lunch and before or after dinner. If he still wee wee-s in the house, HADOKEN!

He usually wee wee-s in the house if he misses one of his walking times, so i can not get angry at him

I have friends who trained their dogs to pee in the toilet ^_^

anyone know how to train this?

  6. hmm... we never have problem wit dogs marking...coz they usually only mark outdoors, not indoor..

can't gv much advise here...beside the lame one...supervision plus stop the act b4 he attempt it again..

whenever he wanted to mark, bring him out from the house n show him the right place...

  7. Oh Togo! You silly pup! Happy 8 month birthday!

Mom quirts Ziggy with a water bottle, then takes him outside immediately. When he potties outside, he gets a treat.

He doesn't like the squirting, but the treats are great!!

  8. Happy belated birday to you, Togo. Mommy doesn't know what to tell yur mommy what to do about the peeing, but just to keep correcting you. I follow my bro, Cosi outside a lot. Haven't had an accident in a while & also I knows that I'd be in BIG trouble if I did do it on purpose.

  10. Happy 8 months old Togo!

When there's accident indoor tell him: No! Bad boy.

Bring him out for his pee in the morning and evening and if you can help it afternoon too. When he does his business correctly outside tell him 'Good boy!'

  11. Happy 8 month birthday!! Not sure how to help. We have a doggie door so we always go outside. If you are looking for a good product to remove the smell try Zero Odor Pet! It works fabulously! We used it when we had our old Shula and she had accidents. Takes the smell and stains right out!

  12. Happy Birthday Togo! Buddy, I understand how wonderfully fun it is to let the world know where our boundary lines are but it's not a good way to endear yourself to Mom. Make her think you're trying real hard to change your hobby and you'll get treats! YUM!
