No Updates? Blame the tummy.
The tyrants would like to apologize for the lack of updates. Not their fault, they said. They blame mommy's big stomach for it.

Tagar is Focused
So rare! A picture of Tagar looking directly into the camera!
Hah. Actually there was a piece of biscuit on my knee, and that's what the pig is looking so intently at. Tagar was so unmovingly focused on the biscuit that I managed to get a few nice shots of her face.

Eternal Wait
I never give the tyrants anything out of the refrigerator, yet EVERY TIME I open it Tagar comes running in anticipation. Doesn't she ever get tired of it?
No, Mommy.
I have this thing called eternal hope.

Rolling on a Tagar
The weekend is almost here!
What better way to relax than rolling around on your favorite tyrant.

You might end up with a head full of fur, though.
Haha!

Captionless Togo
I've been thinking for ages but just can't come up with a suitable caption for this photo.
So here's a caption-less photo of Togo making a really weird face.

Flashback : Baby & Tyrants
Flashback time!
When the little human tyrant was younger, I didn't blog regularly. Which is a shame, because there were so many things better remembered if written down. The whole point of blogging about the tyrants is to capture memories for later years. But no worries, it's not too late!
There are numerous photos of the human tyrant rolling about with the furry ones now, but when he was a little baby we kept them separate as much as possible. The tyrants, no matter how well behaved, are still dogs with big teeth and claws, and the baby is still a helpless little human.
We had a tyrant-free playroom for the baby to learn to crawl and roll around in safety. In the living room the baby was always in his playpen, playing in his safety zone while the tyrants lazed about on the floor.
When we felt the baby was ready (and the tyrants too! they too needed time to adjust to the little human) we gradually let them be together in the same area. These pictures are from the first time we let them 'chill' together on the floor in the living room. The human is about 7 months old at this time, just learning to crawl.

Shedding Season
Huskies shed their fur (or 'blow their coat') twice a year. As we don't get winter here, the tyrants blowing schedule doesn't happen at a fixed time, they usually shed at different times from each other. Mostly to annoy us, I suspect.
This time they're (miraculously) blowing their coat all at the same time. Which leads to fur fur FUR everywhere in and out of the house. Time to brush brush brush!
Togo loves being brushed and will sit quietly to be brushed. Such a darling. Gamby will let herself be caught and brushed but she doesn't like her weak hind legs to be brushed with force, she will snap at us sometimes.
Tagar... is an idiot. She's a chore to catch and brush, but will come asking if you ignore her. Then bolt off after just one stroke and stand in front of the biscuit cupboard, waiting for treats for being brushed! I always ending losing my temper with Tagar. Such a mule-headed girl.
Today I decided to try bribing them before brushing. The idea is to brush them while they're engrossed in chewing these huge treats.
It worked for Togo and Gamby. When I tried brushing Tagar, she picked up her treat and ran off out of reach!
Let's add some perspective to that pile of fur photo. That's a tub, not a pail. Here's Togo beside it. He is our largest tyrant, by the way.

When their butt starts looking like this, it's shedding time!

Takes time to chew - more time to brush!

Stubborn as a mule.
Managed to get a good brushing overall, though. I've already brushed them twice this week, and still they're spewing fur like crazy.

Gamby the Hugger
Gamby has a habit of 'hugging' things when sleeping.
Her one paw is always holding something - the wall, furniture, anything nearby.
Here she is hugging a chair leg and sleeping.

Grassless Goats
Our poor goats.
They have to scrounge for measly bits of grass on our rocky unfruitful terrain.
Psst, tyrants. There's a huge bowl of kibbles inside, if you guys would like to stop being goats.

Gamby the Tail Pest
Gamby is a tail-puller. She has been one since she was a wee little puppy, and has never outgrown the habit.
She would sneak up behind the others and grab their tail in her mouth, and then follow them like a train as they run around trying to shake her off. What a pest!
